2000 PICS OF THE HENDERSON MANSION
A 2 storey split-level semi-plantation home facing the east, thus capturing the prevailing wind and poised for a shady afternoon frontage, fitting for Belize's Chief Engineer and his family
Below are a few shots illustrating the simple external aesthetics that yield such pampering 3000 square feet internal ambience and a functionality that will transcend decades to come.

A December 2000 front view of the structure
This 4 bed room structure has 2 car ports, an entrance verandah and a Master bedroom balcony; complete with laundry, tool room, fun room, 2 1/2 baths, a formal dining, a large kitchen, a studio and a hammock verandah elevated to the rear of the building.

An aerial view of the main living room
Well ventilated spacious carpeted living room with sunken appearance, white wooden hand rail ballusters, a glass blocks divider and 18 ft ceiling height, complete with a simple array chandalier and matching wall lights over large family portraits.

A half view of the kitchen showing open pantry
A glimpse of the simulated marble breakfast bar, an open pantry with complimentary storage and contrasting green marble postform counter top. (10 ft wall cabinet, stove with vent hood and slide out garbage bin not shown in this pic) |
|
A distant Kitchen view from the Dining Room
A semi-regal Dining with a unique multi-loop crystal chandalier on a pop-corn ceiling, lit by a frontal tripple sash window on a wide ledge, ideal for accommodating window sill ornaments. Traditionally Kitchens are located to the rear of the house but since Wifey is Kitchen oriented, the frontal location ideally breaks the tradition.

Christmas 2000......opening the gifts
Sitting on the floor opening gifts in the hall next to the christmas tree is the place to be on the morning of the 25th December. After all, Kids and Parents have stuffs to open....so its a true family affair. There is no chimney for Santa (LOL) but believe it or not, there is provisions for a modern elevator to be fitted in the near future that will assend some 4 storeys up to an observatory that is yet to be built. |
|
The Verandah View over looking the University of Belize
The coolest place to sit is the big front verandah with the awesome arches that have 3 pairs of arcs; each pair 2 feet wider than the other, giving an illusion of the verandah extending into the car port. Actually, the car port is bigger than the house we used to live in before. This entrance verandah is always shady and has a planter box that frames the space with flowers.

Christmas time is when we light up the place
With icicles on the balcony and big color bulbs defining the arches, it makes you just want to go home straight after work and hoping the sun sets early. |
